Case No. 10) Melos MA-333 Pre-amp

A customer brought in a Melos MA333 Preamp which was out of warranty.  The manufacturer has also closed down so factory repair would not have been possible.

The preamp was generating noise, hum and no sound from 1 channel.

The problem can easily be mis-diagnosed as a filament heater problem.  Our experience tells us otherwise.    They were caused by burned out caps, and a couple of resistors.     We also replaced various components which are close to being burned out.
