FAQ

1) Why buy Pre-owned equipment from Excel Stereo ?

We thoroughly inspect, test and repair if necessary, all equipment which come into our store.   When you receive your purchase, it will be guaranteed to work.    We will provide warranty on certain items

2) What is the cosmetic condition of the item ?

    Mint - New in box.

    Open Box - New item but the box was opened

    DEMO - the item was used as a store demo, comes with original warranty

    Excellent - Used item, with reasonable amount of cosmetic wear or minor scratches

    Good - Used item, with some scratches and cosmetic wear

    Fair - Used item, with many visible scratches, wear, and rusting

 

3) Do I pay Taxes on preowned items ?

No, we pay the taxes.   In some cases, taxes do not apply (consignment items)

4) Do you ship worldwide ?

Yes, we ship worldwide via UPS, Fedex, Canpar or Canadapost.     Your purchase will be packed in the original shipping box if available.   Double boxing is used for most items.     If the original box is not available, we will pack the item so that it will be better protected than the factory packing.  We tend to "overkill" on the packing.

5) Who pays shipping fees ?

Unless otherwise agreed upon or stated, buyer pays shipping fees.  Duties, Taxes, Handling, Brokerage, or Customs Clearance fees are the responsibility of the buyer.

6) When do you ship the item ?

When payment has been cleared, we will ship the item within 24 hrs or less, unless otherwise stated.

7) Do you take Trade-in ?

 

We will gladly pay fair market value for your used equipment.

8) Why should I consign items to Excel Stereo ?

* We inspect and test all items before we list them on the website.   

* We provide warranty on most items which we sell

* Do you want a complete stranger to come into your home ?

* Do you want to entertain "tire kickers" ?

* Buyers feel safe sending their money to a store, and not to a stranger

 

9) Can I see the item before I buy it ?

 

We welcome in-store demonstrations.    Alternatively, we will be happy to provide high resolution photos for you.

 

10) Do you take best offers ?

 

A lot of items are customer consigned which means the seller has the final say on the price, not us.  This also mean best offers are more then welcomed.
