What happens when the acquired know-how doing products on behalf of western companies obtains excellence level and when they decide to invest money and experience by themselves into original projects?

 

The best idea is to take both these elements and to invest them into a business able to generate incomes.

 

This is exactly the main road that many Chinese Companies started to follow.

 

The result of this right way to do business is very well represented by catalogs of these Companies, in which we can find a lot of very well made products, that play also better. This is their business card and thanks to it these companies are able to rival with European and American brands, that usually are very well known.

 

So this idea should seem perfect: it is like a virtuous dynamic that, observing rules of research and development, lets market to offer better choice and makes customers confident and generate richness.

 

But conditional clause is compelling, because many times these high quality products coming from China arrive into American or European markets and become confused between many other less quality products, inside an Ocean where they risk to be drown, or the worst thing, they risk to be unseen and to be associated to other poor quality products in a commonplace that says: "it is an ordinary Chinese product".

 

Instead, and it should be clear and simple, Chinese products aren''t always the same and some of them are very high quality.

 

Really they aren''t ''new arrival'', because Xindak brand, also if was not very well known, is now distributed in Italy by Palmtop Italia Srl, a young and dynamic roman Company, born in 2003, and that assumed the role of sole distributor of Chinese audio products.

 

Xindak Brand belongs to Chengdu Xindak Electronic Co Ltd., born in 1988 from Chengdu Xinda Audio and Lightning Equipment Factory to satisfy requests for high quality electronic components coming from Domestic Market. In that years big information technologies companies like IBM, HP and Compaq moved their factories in China to take advantage of economies of scale.

 

In this way, Chinese engineers and technicians were able to study and to learn new fabrication processes, using internal components unavailable in China.

 

From MKP capacitors and high quality audio cables they arrived quickly to develop integrated amplifiers and many electronic devices: this young Company spent only few years to become well known in China. At the beginning it started an exportation plan to Hong Kong, Singapore and Australia and then arrived quickly in USA and Europe.

 

Growing day after day, they add new products to their catalog: integrated and multi chassis amplifiers, Digital to Analog converters, CD Players, Audio Cables, and so on.

The system we are going to test is an important representative of Xindak''s products: an hybrid amplifier on three chassis.

 

Models are XA3200MKII and XA8800MNu: they belong to different product's family and this is evident also by look: a traditional horizontal chassis for preamplifier and a deep chassis for power amplifiers.

 

Mechanical details, manufacture and finish are good, and they surely are at the same level of products from well known audio Hi-Fi brands.

 

As proof of what we are saying, please look at thickness and manufacture of power amplifier''s front panels and also accuracy of preamplifier''s front panel.

 

Preamplifier''s layout is traditional and essential and polite, only needed controls: four buttons to select sources, volume knob and power switch.

 

All is stylish made and elegant. We can find these concepts also in power amplifiers''s layout, as should be for products made by an expert developer.

 

Considering geometry of some essential internal components, like power transformer, they done a very good optimization of internal layout of single parts. So you can note that heath sink was put out, along a side.

 

On the other side, in a good chromatic design, you can find a metallic cover to protect power section.

 

With preamplifier you will also receive a very good remote control: quality that you will seldom see in other products. An aluminum mono bloc, milled enough to hold printed circuit board. Wonderful!

Preamplifier''s rear panel is minimalist but it has duplicate outputs. There are also four couples of sources.

 

Power amplifiers, instead, have more connection opportunities: in fact incoming signal can be balanced or single-ended. You can choose this feature using a micro-switch on rear panel.

If you would, you can also make a bi-wiring connection using two outputs plugs (there are 2 couple of power outputs on each power amplifier).

 

The most evident thing that you can see looking at these products is quality of internal components used. In fact all passive components are from very well known Brands. We are talking about ALPS used in volume, and also about capacitors from WIMA, Rubycon and Aerovox. These last ones are made based on unique Xindak's specifications (with a 5% tolerance).

 

About semiconductors we have a couple of 2SC3264/2SA1295 able to provide 17A. And we find three couples of them on each channel.

 

On the input stage there is a OPA604 from Burr Brown, it is very good in audio applications due to its low distortion and high capacity of its FET input. Power transformer are ring ones in preamplifier and in power amplifiers: in this last case they are impressive! A peak of 350 Watt! And its is more than double of declared output power. Filter's stages are generous due to their 30mF on each channel, so you will always have all needed dynamics.

 

Tubes used inside preamplifier (12AX7 and 12AT7) are made in China, and they are selected to achieve best quality. Xindak XA3200MKII is really a way to enter world of tubes at a very reasonable price.

 

There are very few high quality tube preamplifiers that you can buy without a loan. And this is one of the most important things that we found during our analyzing and listening (specially listening) of Xindak XA3200MKII. In this same matter we can judge power amplifiers, although they are more expensive than preamplifier. They intrinsically sound fine and they could be very well matched with many preamplifiers.

 

Conclusion: these products are to be listen and choose.

 

When products are done as they should be done, it''s necessary that they be presented in a correct way. Xindak done it well, in project and in manufacture.

Only in this way we can explain the good result achieved: not only referring to design beauty, but also looking at project, manufacture and internal layout of components used.

In fact these devices are really capable of good results: tone is correct, and sound is detailed and you can hear every ''nuances''.

 

In a few words, you can really hear each single system component doing its job: the tube ''roundness'' and plenty sound, but also the energy and dynamics of solid state components.

We could say that this three chassis system is able to easily combine the two worlds of tubes and solid state.

 

I listened this system for a long period and I can say that it can reproduce plenty voices in their fullness, and they are well focused and differentiated from instruments on background.

So you will have a good live performance, where singer is in front of instruments. Male voices are full and vibrant, instead female voices are just a little bit reduced on higher frequencies fineness: but it is a very little thing if you look at their price!

 

Power amplifiers are powerful and able to supply a lot of current. They can reproduce easily also very difficult transitions, due to their well done internal project. Big Orchestra but also concise events like drums, that require energy on output stage are fine. Output stages themselves work fine and they are correct in their rising and descending time and they are always discernible.

Despite belonging to two different product families, preamplifier and power amplifiers achieve a satisfactory mutual balance in sound.

 

Big orchestra has a big stage, well defined, where percussions are correctly located on the background. But also Jazz Club events are very well reproduced: in this case the stage has closely dimension, very correct. Around each instrument there is always the correct amount of air.

 

So, this audio system from Xindak is very satisfactory in performance, design and, least but not last, its price.
